BC's Performing Arts department recently hosted a Flute Masterclass on March 7 with the legendary Trudy Kane, the first female Principal Flute at the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and the longest-serving principal to date. Flutists from across the Central Valley gathered in the Performing Arts Center's choir room for performances by Kane and BC Professor of Flute Tracy Harris, open lessons with Kane, and a general clinic. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn from a true master of her craft was a hit with all in attendance. Thank you to Tracy Harris, the Performing Arts Department, and Dean Mourtzanos for making this incredible event possible. Enriching the lives of our students and our community is why we wake up every day!
